Accusations on Islam by Non-Muslims

Author: Hadi Imran

Now days Muslims are being targeted on the basis of their religion as Muslims are growing and creating problems for Non Muslims physiologically as they are feeling insecure by the huge number of Muslims in every continent and mostly in every country.

Main accusations put by the Non Muslims are that

1) Muhammad (P.B.U.H) married Ayesha when she was only 9.

2) Islam orders to kill the apostates.

3) Islam orders to wear scarf to cover up the hair of women.

4) Islam orders to kill the unbelievers.

5) Islam is in the favor of Jihad.

The first accusation which is frequently asked by Non Muslims that why did Muhammad (P.B.U.H) married a 9 years old girl as he was of in his 50s. So the answer for that is Muhammad married a 9 years old girl because he knew that there will be a day when he will be died and as the Muslims knew that he was the last prophet sent by the Allah.

So for securing the verses said by him and for securing the Quran he married the 9 years old girl so that she can tell the verses to future people. Now the questions comes in the mind of an unbeliever that why did he married for securing the verses only to that girl, he could have told this thing to his wives too. But the thing comes that according to the recent scientific research the younger kids can memorize the things quickly, so for that he married Ayesha, Now again the question comes that why did he married her ? Why hadn’t he adopted to her ? So the answer to this is that the adopted daughter is non-maharem which is not permitted to the Muslims to see her, so for that he had to marry her. And the people think that Muhammad was the only person who married the child but also Isaac had married too Rebecca, He married her when she was just of 3.

The second accusation is that Islam orders to kill the apostate as they are totally wrong in it

“Let there be no compulsion (forcing others) in religion: Truth stands out clear from error (Quran, 2:256)”

The above mentioned verse clearly justifies this accusation that Islam is a strict religion with no chance to return to the previous belief or another belief so it is totally wrong. Islam is the only Abrahamic religion which allows it’s believers to change their faith if they want. As other religion like Judaism and Christianity do not give any type of privilege to it’s followers to leave the religion as their religion is the one way religions. It is defined by the book of Deuteronomy chapter no 3 verse no 6

If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other),do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him.You must certainly put him to death. Your hand must be the first in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people. Stone him to death, because he tried to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and no one among you will do such an evil thing again.

As Islam believes in freedom of opinion and choice so it is not such strict like the following above religion which do not even allow the people to give their opinion to choose the other faith. If they do so they will be killed.

3) The third accusation put by the Non Muslims is that women should cover her head but so for this nothing is mandated in Quran. The only thing which we can get is from Hadith by holy Prophet, So for this there was certain condition when Asthma the daughter of Abu Bakr Siddique was wearing the thin clothes so for this holy prophet said that to her that women should wear the thick clothes which are not see through so that the modesty of woman is saved.

4) The next accusation by the Non Muslims are that in Quran there are many Surahs written which orders to kill the unbelievers but for this i need to say that these Surahs were written in the time of the wars. So all the thing which allows to kill the non Muslims were only in the certain circumstance in which the unbelievers were at war with Muslims and they were brutally killing Muslims.

5) The fifth accusation put by the non-Muslims is that Muslims are in favor of Jihad but for this we need to see the term which Jihad actually meant and Jihad means “Struggle” many times people misunderstood this with holy fighting but Jihad is the struggle for any thing which is in the favor of mankind and humanism. And killing innocent people like in 9/11 is not Jihad it is terrorism and Islam is against it.

I will defend the Islam from other accusations in my next articles.

Breaking Down The Language Barrier

Author: Mary Funari

This great country has a wide and diverse background due to different cultures that have come to its shores. The hows and whys of how they got here are at times horrific, but the end result is that they have added greatly to our growth and most importantly to our culture.

Initially, immigrants kept to themselves, in their neighborhoods. This is where they were most comfortable because the language and the customs were familiar. This continues even today, the difference being that TV exposes immigrants to more diversity then ever before.

Many immigrants, when they came to our shores, Americanized their names. Often, because officials had difficulty understanding how to pronounce their names. People can argue that there was no sensitivity to the immigrants. But, if you talk to the sons and daughters of these people, the first generation born in this country, you may walk away if a different understanding.

Many immigrants, had and continue to have a desire to embrace America and our language, while still maintaining their rich culture and heritage. Governments both large and small in this country have created an arena that promotes bigotry. When you separate a people because they can not speak and understand each other, you create an atmosphere of suspicion and even fear.

Consider this, if you can take a drivers test in one language, but can’t read the road signs, how safe are you as a driver? Also, if you become ill and are in need of medical care, but the doctors and nurses can’t understand you, how can they help you?

Common sense would lead you to believe that having one language, the American Language, which has it’s roots in multiple cultures, should be encourage. This would allow better communication and better understanding among people.

Liberals and special interest would say that this is racist. But, they have their own agenda. If we can understand each other, then we can learn to appreciate each other and will learn to meet each other as equals. Governments and other groups could not prey on misunderstanding and fear. That being said, we may not get along with each other all the time, but then again, most families don’t.

Respecting each other and where we came from is the first key. Learning to understand each other is the next step. Most of us, no matter where our mothers and fathers came from, have one thing in common. We are trying to work hard, provide for our families and improve the lives of our family. Sounds like we may have more in common then we think.

People are different, that’s what makes this country so special. Our culture is unique and like no other, because of the diversity of it’s members. While far from perfect and with a long way to go, the first step may be learning to speak with each other in the American Language.
