How To Write An Editorial

Author: mildred

There are many issues around us that need to be dealt with: corruption in politics, people finder on missing persons, thousands driven away from their homes because of recession. For a budding journalist these issues can be dealt with through writing, two of the best ways is dealing it through opinion writing or editorial writing.

Many may get confused as to the difference of the above mentioned technical writing method. Opinion or column writing is a write-up of one’s personal point of view about an issue presently tackled in the society; on the other hand Editorial is the whole staff’s (the publication). With these said, here are pointers on how to present opinions for publication.

  1. Start with a catchy statement.

For those who have dealt with writing a feature, getting the readers’ attention is all about the first sentence. This goes the same with writing opinion articles. Start with either: a startling statement, a question or a simple quote. Go find person who has given a strong quote, question, or remark either related to the issue or is part of the issue.

Example of an attention grabber statement with the issue in abortion:

Startling statement: “Listen to the cries of the unborn….”

Question: “Is abortion a solution to unwanted pregnancy?”

Quote: “No woman wants an abortion.  Either she wants a child or she wishes to avoid pregnancy.  ~Author Unknown

  1. Present the news peg as clearly as possible.

A news peg is similar to a news lead. However the specific topic on the issue is presented thus introducing what the editorial is all about. It is not much straightforward but definitely presents a clear problem to be resolved. For example:

“Abortion has been one of the most debatable issues since its legalization. However the question still rise, especially with the protest from pro-life organizations, as to whether it is in fact right for such process be a solution to the

  1. Write the body with clarity and unity

The next paragraphs should be written in coherence with the intro. Discuss the issue from how it started (limit it to the idea presented).  Try to find person who can give further inputs that may help in developing your article. Remember that it is an opinion so make sure to state the message to be relayed to the readers. It must be written clearly and simply.

(Note: Remember to always use third person plural “WE” for the editorial and first person singular “I” for the opinion)

  1. Write the conclusion finally answering and justifying the presented issue.

(Note: Number or words all in all should be 300 maximum)

Home Business Copywriting Skills: How To Sniff Out What Your Objective Audience Genuinely Desires

Author: Pablo Gonzalez

Have you been writing ad after ad after ad and still can’t seem to figure out your target audience? At one point or another, we’ve all been there.
I can still recall my first attempts at copywriting. Boy was it bad! I mean really.
The subject matter was boring, repetitive, and had no real sense of direction if you even made it all the way to the conclusion. ;-)
Ever feel that way? Like your subject matter just doesn’t turn you on. It doesn’t even pull to YOU so imagine how someone else would feel if THEY glance at it.
Fortunately, I learned from my many, many mistakes as to what I was missing and how to combine it to my copywriting .
There were many things missing to my particular style of writing. But there was one in particular that seemed to make every other attempt at writing good articles, ads, press releases, etc.
The reality that I wasn’t adding any BENEFITS to my writing made a colossal impact on how people reacted to the idea I was trying to get across.
Adding Rocket Fuel to Your Copywriting
So, as my eyes began to see more clearly as to what the TRUE aim of writing content was, I began to note:
“ People were in reality engrossed in what I was writing
“ I started receiving more and more great comments
“ I was being noticed even more by others in this industry (Which is Astounding if your goal is to group with others in the same industry)
“ And most of all, I started noticing BIG changes in my marketing results and after being a “Broke Marketer” for so long, was starting to create an income.
So a significant way for you to start receiving these kind of results, you’ll have to put into practice one specific strategy to ALL of your marketing subject matter.
And it’s genuinely simple…..Really!
All you have to focus on is………wait for it………………BENEFITS!
The more benefits you add to your copywriting about your product, the better the outcome from your marketing.
It’s funny how that works, people really want to know how something will HELP them. (That was a sarcastic remark, by the way.)
People do not acquire things for what they are. They acquire things for what they do. In particular how it will benefit them.
The Mad-Scientist Copywriting Formula
Alright guys, I’m going to let the cat out of the bag at this time.
Ever wondered if there was a precise formula to writing compelling ad copy, the kind that will have your spectators ready to buy Whatsoever you’re selling?
Well, you wondered very well!
There IS a precise formula to impressive copywriting and it’s called the A.I.D.A. formula.
A – Attention
I – Interest
D – Desire
A – Action
I might be letting out too much top-secret information, but I think you guys deserve knowing this.
It’s what has been helping me develop my copywriting and I’m seeing Enormous changes in my results.
You will too, IF you follow the formula!
Be Kind, Rewind!
I might be dating myself at this time ;-) , but do you remember video tapes? (Another sarcastic remark)
Every time you borrowed one from a video store, someplace on the tape itself or on the wrap was a sticker that said “Be Kind, Rewind!”
If I could include that sticker here, I would!
And what I mean by rewind is to reveal this content with others. There are SOOOOO many people on the internet that are in desperate need for this info!
So do them a HUGE benefit and show them what you’ve just learned here.

A Black Light Party Is Bound To Supply A Glowing Good Time!

Author: Bryan Foster

A Black Light Party is one of the coolest looking and most fun parties to attend for both tweens and kids alike.  This party is certain to light them up!

Invites

Start your black light party excitement by utilizing black construction paper to make your invites and write all your party information with glow in the dark markers.

Decorations

For most impressive results, you will want your party room to be pitch black.   if at all practical it’s best to hold this kind of party at night.  If need be, cover windows with black butcher paper to keep all hints of light out of the room.  Replace all the lights in the room with black lights ; the more, the better.  Start out by defining your party area.  If you have places in the house that you don’t want your guests to venture into, use black light reactive rope to keep them out of those express areas.

As guests arrive, escort them into a pitch black room, which is only lit up by black lights and pumps out with glow in the dark and fiber-optic items.  For a really fun addition, add a fog machine.  This will enhance the bizarre glow of the room and add to the thrill of it all.  Think about employing a bubble machine.  Fill it with glowing tekno bubble solution, then all it spews out will glow in the dark.  It’s a perfect add-on to a black light party.

Cover your tables with tablecloths that have glow in the dark designs.  Use glow in the dark cups, plates, cutlery, stir sticks, straws, lighted ice cubes, light up bowls, coasters, and so on.  Decorate room with white streamers, balloons, curling ribbon, and confetti so they all glow when the black lights are on.

Hang disco balls or strobe lights for added pizazz!  Create table centerpieces using fiber-optic lights, white shred, confetti, curling ribbons, and balloons.  Decorate other bits of the room with glow orbs and glowing balloon lights.  Make sure that your guests wear as much white as practicable with neon accents.  For example, lime green shoelaces or a pink fluorescent hat.  As guests arrive, enhance them with glow in the dark leis, necklaces, bracelets, hats, etc .  Be sure to have lots of glow sticks on hand for more fun!

Hope that those ideas help to get your creative energies flowing!  Pick, and add to the above, and your black light party will surely be a glowing good time!

Carpet Steam Cleaner Information

Author: Bryan Foster

The best carpet steam cleaner is the one that does its job to the best of its ability without spoiling your carpets or leaving them a soaking mess.  Before deciding to steam clean your carpets, there are a couple of things you ought to know about the method and the best way to go about it.  Not at all stains are equal and others can be much more troublesome to get rid of then others.  This is why it’s very important to have the right expectancies set for you when you attempt to clean your carpets.  There is not a single cleaning solution that is going to be effective at removing each type of stain from any carpet ; if anybody guarantees this to you, run away.

When it comes to carpet steam cleaners, they can be split into home and commercial use.  A home carpet steam cleaner is designed to be used in the home, and as a consequence, they come in conveyable and stand-up vacuum models.  The objective behind creating such light and portable models is that you can maneuver them round the tighter corners of the home and between the nooks of any room or little space.  A commercial steam carpet cleaner is a big machine that is not designed to clean between the smaller openings and areas of the home, but rather its purpose is to clean bigger offices and rooms in commercial buildings.

With all of that being said, using a steam cleaner for carpets on a rug with a mixture of stains would possibly not be the best approach to lifting that stain.  If you have spilled red wine, ink or something like these then running out to buy or hire a carpet steam cleaner wouldn’t be required as there are special cleaning agents that may lift these stains out.  You should only use the steam cleaner to remove and purge any dirt and dust which has accumulated in your carpets after a period of being trampled over.

If you have any questions about what a carpet steam cleaner can and cannot do, you should direct all of these inquiries to a professional store or servicing center where you’ll be able to find all the answers you need.  Somebody wishes to make sure your expectancies are correctly set and you need to know exactly what a steam cleaner for carpets is capable of since the majority believe they can remove any stain.  It’d take one or two tries or a strong machine to correctly remove all of the dirt and inset filth which has lodged itself into your carpet over time.

Mlm Copywriting Secret- Pictures Tell A 1000 Words

Author: Erica Jones

Everyone using copywriting to market an MLM business online wants the magic bullet, the secret that will change their business.  While MLM copywriting is not an easy skill to master there are a couple of tricks that will move your business further and they can be mastered in one simple step.

First you have to consider how the internet has altered our lives.  It has changed the way we interact with one another, how we learn, how we shop and how we live.  It entertains us, educates us and keeps us in touch even from the other side of the world.  Because the web has such a strong influence on everything we do it is important for online MLM marketers to understand how we use it compared to the old school copywriting methods of getting our message across.

People often do not read when they are online.  They scan.  The eye searches out keywords or phrases and then we read around those.  If what we read is important enough or is what we were looking for, we’ll go back and read the entire message, or at least most of it.

This scanning trait makes the written word get lost in the shuffle.  So, how do you get your message to stand out in the crowd?

Simple, use images.

A picture tells a 1000 words and online it may be worth even more.  If used properly a good eye catching, controversial, funny, interesting photo or illustration grabs the reader and pulls them in.

It is a simple trick that a lot of online marketers miss.  Pictures are the fastest way to get a persons attention and keep it.

If you take a look at the stats for the top websites you will notice an alarming trend.  The sites that get the most views, have the most people on them for the longest periods of time all center around videos and images.  It comes back to the fact that people don’t read on the internet but always take time to look at pictures or watch video.

Find good images and use them in as many of your marketing efforts as possible.

Blog posts, videos, forum posts (screen shots are brilliant for this), social networking profiles and anywhere else you can think of.

If a picture can tell a 1000 words and it gets seen on your social networking profile page 10 times a day that is 10 000 words spoken for you without you having to lift a finger!  Use images in your MLM copywriting efforts and you will see a change in your MLM business.

Images can be used in so many ways to boost your MLM business.  Get more info on how I use images to get my SEO rankings up for free on my Nerve Center…
