Why Undergraduates to Take Low-paid Jobs in UK at This Time?

Author: Selina

As Chinese university undergraduates for job-hunting with anxiety?however, British undergraduates also face the prospect of job-hunting, which is not optimistic. According to survey, economy depression and big unemployed population is the “work” sin chief culprit, which make undergraduates are anxious about their future. In this case, some undergraduates choose to graduate to ease employment pressure; some are forced to accept low-paying jobs.

The majority of students leaving university in coming months do not expect to land decent jobs, it was revealed, as the recession continues to have a “profound effect” on the employment market. Thousands of final-year degree students are preparing to accept low-paid work in bars, supermarkets and call centre, according to figures. That was amazing! Everyone thinks that get a good degree means to get a good job. But now, it seems wrong! Everything is changing.

As thousands of undergraduates take end-of-course exams this month, it emerged that only a quarter of those on arts and humanities courses were preparing to secure work in graduate professions. The disclosure came in a survey of more than 16,000 final year students – a fifth of those nationally – by analysts High Fliers Research. Despite of these undergraduates, some society workers are losing their job and become a job-hunter. That will make a big pressure for undergraduates, who without working experience.

It comes despite fears that graduates are facing record levels of debt this summer, with the average student being forced to repay ?18,100 for a three year course. Debts rise to ?25,700 in parts of London. How they pay? The rising prices force them to find a job as soon as possible whatever is high paid or not! They just want to support ther life.

The jobs shortage was blamed on a “substantial backlog” in the number of jobless graduates from previous years – creating additional pressure on the employment market in 2010.

Researchers said 8,000 extra job applications had been made to leading companies by the end of October as students attempted to steal a march on competitors.

It was also disclosed that thousands of students are preparing to take a postgraduate course as an alternative to finding a job. Some 26 percent of students will remain in higher education after completing degrees this year, figures show.

According to the study, 36 percent of students believe they will start a graduate job – or start looking for one – when they leave university this summer. But are they sure they will? Many difficulties in front of them, are they have strong will to insist until fins a good that satisfied? Good luck to them.

Numbers slump to 25 percent among arts and humanities students. Some 26 per cent of all students are preparing to move on to postgraduate courses, while a third will take “any job they are offered”, the study said. This suggests large numbers of students will embark on low-paid jobs in shops, cafes, call centre and building sites – failing to use their degree for many years.

What’s the main reason? All are social problems? Not really! On one hand, governments should carry out some rules to protect their rights and some preferential policies to help them. On the other hand, theses undergraduates should improve themselves qualities and skills in order to win more chances to get a good job! God bless you!

Do You Need a Life Coach?

Author: Nicole Bernd

Imagine a boxer in the center of a great ring surrounded by a roaring crowd. If you look in this boxer’s corner you notice that he doesn’t have anyone standing there. Turning your attention to the other boxers corner you notice that he has a coach standing there with water, and a towel shouting directions and encouragements. Which boxer would you place a bet on to win?

A personal life coach stands in your corner and helps you win, helps you accomplish your much deserved success. A life coach will help your balance your life and a life coach will help you remove any barriers that are standing in your way.

Imagine again our boxer. The boxer is training for a fight with a routine personally designed. The routine yields moderate results. The boxer decides to hire a coach. Now this boxer’s training routine’s results are better and faster then ever before. By hiring a coach our boxer has the support needed to speed towards success.

This is what you can expect from a life coach. A life coach helps you find ways to accomplish your goals better and faster than you expected. Who wouldn’t benefit from such a service? There is a reason that all professional athletes have coaches. A life coach will not only help you find a path to your goals, but they offer inspiration along the way.

In order to determine how you can directly benefit from coaching try the following exercise. This exercise was adapted from The Life Coaching Handbook by Curly Martin. Below are some areas of your life that I would like you to consider. You will need a piece of paper and something to write with. For each of the below areas of your life I want you to write where you are now, where you want to be, and an estimate of how many hours in one week that you spend on each area.

Health

Wealth

Family

Relationships

Spiritual

Career/Job

Playtime

After completing this task you should have a good idea of your life and goals. Do you know how you are going to get from now to where you want to be? Do you have a plan? Do you do something daily to accomplish your goals and aspirations? A personal coach will help you answer these questions and many more.

As a life coach I stand in peoples corner offering support and encouragement. I wipe off my boxer’s head with a towel and offer water to keep them in the game when they falter or feel like they can not continue. I turn the boxer with an empty corner into the boxer that wins the fight.

If you are interested in personal life coaching I require that all new customers partake in a free 15min session so that we can get to know one another. This way you can learn more about my coaching style before making any commitments. Sign up for your free 15min session here.

How Happy People Deal with Anger – Life Coaching Tips

Author: Matthew Ferry

As an Inspired Action life coach, I support people with the process of transmuting their anger and moving back towards being happy, positive, fulfilled, and satisfied. This is not always easy to do, but many successfully happy people have created strategies that assist them in moving out of the anger and back to happiness again. Here are three of those strategies.

1. Change the context – One of the most successful methods for moving out of anger and back to happiness again is to change the context of the situation. Change the meaning that you have given this situation that makes you angry.

This is not easy to do because you naturally default to the automatic meaning you have been conditioned to attach to things. Like a dog, each of us was domesticated by the people who raised us to view the world in a particular way. With practice you will begin to see that no such world exists. The world you see is defined by the context you view it in. Happy people understand this and practice stepping back and looking at the situation from other people’s shoes.

Try it today. Look at what ever is upsetting you from different angles, from different points of view. How would the Pope see it? How would a street person see it? How would a starving child in Africa see it? Keep changing the point of view until the anger begins to dissipate.

You will notice, with practice, you can very, very quickly get yourself right out of the emotional fury that occurs from the ‘one perspective’ you are conditioned to have.

2. Recognize The Drunk Monkey and its antics. Anger is just your body’s response to potential danger. Yet, think about how often you get angry, frustrated, upset, and hostile in situations that are not actually dangerous.

We have, in our society, created a very effective survival strategy. If you live in a first world country, the odds of you being in serious danger are very, very small. Yet, we still have this animal part of our brain, which I like to call The Drunk Monkey, which is looking out for danger and avoiding it.

When you get angry, consider the idea that you are The Drunk Monkey’s puppet. See the strings as anger, frustration, anxiety, fear or doubt. Visualize The Drunk Monkey pulling the strings to steer you away from danger. Notice that it does this without your permission. Realize that The Drunk Monkey is a bit dim witted and can’t tell the difference between real danger and imaginary danger. Once you begin to see that happening and observe it, suddenly it doesn’t have a grip on you any longer and you can move right out of the anger back into happiness, by conscious choice.

3. Choose gratitude. Happy people have developed habits, rituals and disciplines that keep them happy. One of those disciplines is asking effective questions.

Happy people have the discipline to be in a hostile, angry situation and suddenly ask themselves a question such as “Why is this good?” “What am I learning from this?” “How will I be a better person because of this?” “How will this situation benefit me?”

By moving from a position of “I’m powerless and I’m going to get hurt or am in danger,” the happy person shifts the context through questioning, back to a place where they feel gratitude. “How is this going to benefit me?” By taking on these techniques, you will find that you can very quickly move yourself from anger back to happiness again.

First Step to Success: Take Responsibility

Author: John Bino

The majority of us want to be successful in life, but few take the necessary steps to be one. It’s not the question whether you can; it is rather a question of whether you will. This article is written for those who will.

Jim Rohn wisely said that, “Success is not something you pursue, but something you attract by becoming an attractive person”. So focusing your attention on becoming attractive is the first step to success. Now the big question, how to become an attractive person? The answer is quite simple; become better than you currently are mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially. It’s a never-ending process. Step-by-step you add the necessary knowledge and skills needed to make you more attractive. You become a life-long learner. Then why don’t most people do it? Because they think becoming a life-long learner is a daunting task. But they don’t realize that it’s the start that’s the most important. Once you get the wheels rolling it gathers momentum with time and before you realize it you are cruising.

So the next big question; where do you start? The answer is simple; you start with taking personal responsibility for where you are today, mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially. In the bible there is a very important statement ‘As you sow, so shall you reap’. This is one of the most important lessons in life. You can also rephrase it like this: ‘Whatever you have reaped, is what you have sown’. Correct? So, you are exactly where you are because what actions and choices you have made in the past. There is no denying that fact. There is no point in blaming your parents, country, skin color, luck, friends, etc. for where you are today. It’s only because of you and your choices. Earl Shoaff once said, “If you change, everything will change for you”. One of the best quotes of all time has come from none other than the great Mahatma Gandhi. He said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world”. As you can tell the focus is always on you, and not others.

Once you have realized and are humble enough to accept it, then you can start to change yourselves. Till then, you will put up a wall between yourself and personal development. So the first step to becoming a more attractive person is to take responsibility for your current situation and to accept that the buck stops with you.

God bless

John Bino
