Satellite TV—On the Go?

Our fast-paced society wants everything to be faster, better, stronger. People are always on the go, trying to cram as many activities into their already busy schedule. Consequently, technology has always kept up with this obsession with time by making our most important technical tools portable so as to speed our lives up. Many things have already been made portable—and now forms of entertainment, such as Satellite TV, proves no different.

Our mobile phones enable us to conduct our business and personal calls anywhere—and has become a norm in our culture. Our laptops enable us to conduct work, access our emails, and surf the web also virtually anywhere with an internet connection, which is also becoming increasingly widespread. Our MP3 players allow us to enjoy our entire library of music anytime and anywhere. And now, satellite TV, is now on the go—allowing our entertainment experience itself to be mobile as well. With this technology, you will get not only the mobility you have always had with cell phone television, but also the quality of your at-home experience.

This portable entertainment system comes in a briefcase. While with your at-home TV connection, an antennae and dish must be installed on your roof, the antenna on the portable version sits on the lid of the briefcase. While the briefcase itself is slightly heavy at around 27 pounds, the new technology will enable families to enjoy the luxuries of at-home entertainment anywhere. Summertime camping trips, boating outings, or even picnics could have this portable entertainment system. People can enjoy events with family and friends, but not miss their NFL, MLB or the World Cup games. Other features, such as on-demand are also available with this new technology—all the sports you could and would watch, all the high definition channels and its respective shows, and all the music channels offering all genres depending on your taste.

The on the go technology is also targeting dorm rooms, hotel suites, and hospital rooms to allow more extensive programming options without the hassle of dish and antenna installation. Many college students would like to enjoy the benefits of such programming that they have at their parents’ home; however, given that they live in student housing, such installation would prove impossible. Thus, this portable entertainment system offers a wonderful alternative to a college students’ football game and other entertainment needs. Similarly, in hospital rooms, such technology could be used to provide better television programming for its patients than basic networks or even basic cable. The hours of boredom sitting in a hospital room could be eliminated. The discomfort of being in such a sterile environment alleviated.

The cell phone television has been allowing people to enjoy television anywhere; however, the viewing experience is severely limited by the small screen. The mobile TV now offers its customers both quality and mobility. No longer should you sacrifice quality for mobility. With satellite TV on the go, you can enjoy your favorite dramas and comedies, catch the World Cup games, and even relax to music while outdoors or away from home.

Choosing Your Technology: Satellite TV or Cable from Ohio to Illinois

Author: Oswald Melman

The decision to get rid of analog television service definitely had far-reaching implications in states like Ohio and Illinois. After all, this is where people had become accustomed to rabbit ears bringing in television service, and it was a way of life that didn’t need changing for most of those who remained unchanged by fancier televisions and options for hundreds and hundreds of channels. However, the decision was made to move to digital, and everyone had to shift along with that. And while this might not mean that everyone who made the switch was ready to embrace the world of HDTV and other more modern trappings, it did mean that people who hadn’t previously thought about new forms of technology had to make a choice. For those who opted for cable rather than the dish, it might have seemed like a more convenient decision, but the fact is that cable sometimes doesn’t deliver in the ways people are expecting. For a service that has been around since the early 1990s, the dish has changed a great deal since its first days out on the scene. And because of this, it often is a far superior option than cable in most neighborhoods. The reason it tends to get a bad rep for being overcomplicated is not based on today’s technology, but rather yesterday’s anecdotal evidence. It definitely used to be true that cable was a more affordable service than satellite tv, but these days, things are a whole lot different. For one, the cable companies are having to scramble to cover costs, considering the fact that more and more people are moving over to the dish. This means that cable is having to charge more for its monthly fees, and the extra costs of adding those channels that you really want really do add up. Unlike over with a dish, you often aren’t able to pick and choose anything, meaning that you have to pay a serious premium to get the channels that you want in the first place. With satellite tv, you don’t have to pay extra to add and subtract channels, and making that choice also doesn’t extend your contract indefinitely. But there’s a whole lot more that makes the dish a bit more appealing in today’s economy. With the monthly fees, you can expect to pay the same or less than with cable, and often this means a package that has a whole lot more. But beyond that, you aren’t going to get a deal price and be shocked to see it skyrocket a couple of months later. The dish services out there aren’t as interested in hidden fees, since their customer base is steadily climbing. Whether you’re interested in a ton of movie channels and the best HDTV content out there, or you simply want an affordable and easy-to-use service bringing you television shows, it makes sense to reconsider what service you’ve chosen. From Ohio to Illinois, there are oftentimes far better options out there than the local cable companies, and it’s never been a better time to pursue them than when things all seem to be getting more expensive, while jobs and work seem to both be at a standstill.

Taxi Driver Safety from In-Cab CCTV

Author: Philippa Wilson

Taxi drivers don’t always get the best end of the deal. They may be providing a service but they certainly don’t get paid to put up with anti-social behavior, drunk people and thieves. These sorts of fares can be really dangerous and the taxis drivers are sometimes putting their own safety at risk. Thankfully in-cab CCTV is there to help. Now you may think that a CCTV system in the back of your taxi is a great expense for just a car but in actual fact, it can make you money! The system itself is made up of three main components. The cameras, the audio device and the monitor.
Cameras
The cameras that are fitted in the cab are designed to allow you, the driver, to see your entire cab. They have a 360 degree view of everything that is going on and this can only be achieved with the use of an advisor. The advisor for the system will take a detailed view of your cab and see what blind spots there are, where you need your cameras located and how many cameras you will need. All of this is done so that you get the most out of your system. Once the cameras are fitted, they will be able to record absolutely everything that goes on in your cab and will even be able to see angles that you may not such as behind the seats. It can also see peoples faces that may otherwise be obscured with scarves or hoods. All of this is recorded and can be used as evidence should you ever need to.
The audio device
This device is placed in the cab and can pick up all noises and conversations in your cab. It can detect any sound no matter how quiet and you will have no problem in hearing things over the noise of the engine. this device will again record everything just in case you should need it to prove something. This device is particularly helpful if you have been verbally attacked as that sort of behaviour would not necessarily come across on the video. The sort of evidence that you may have on your audio recorder could be crucial to any police case and adds a new slant on CCTV that usually gets left out.
The monitor
The monitor is a flip down screen that goes into the front of the cab and can show your passengers what is being filmed. This is a great idea because not only can they see that they are being filmed but they will also see that the whole of the cab is on view and there are no places where they can get away with anything. It also makes them feel a bit more comfortable that you aren’t spying on them because they can see exactly what you can. The monitor is also a great way to make some money because it can double up as advertising space. Advertisers such as drinks companies and nightclubs will pay an absolute fortune to get their name out to late night fares and the money you get from advertising will go towards paying for the CCTV system itself.
